Being grateful in the moment !!!!

So often many of us (especially me) are guilty of being ungrateful in the moment. I say this because I find myself always worrying about what is to come instead of realizing that all of my needs are currently being met.

I am a person whose mind constantly races and I constantly think about what is to come. For example, I remember moving into my first apartment and on the first day wondering what I was going to do once my lease was up. Another example would be when I began my graduate degree my immediate thought was what I would pursue for post graduate work.....

I've realized that I am a person who always likes to be in control and "ready" for whatever. But if its one thing that I have learned in the past year it's that I'm not in control no matter how hard I try.

One thing I know for sure is that I need to simply surrender and trust the process. Though I may not always understand what is going on and why. I know and believe that God has a plan for my life. And while I'm investing time in worrying about what that process will entail I'm missing out on the many opportunities and precious moments surrounding me.

Procrastination

I have a terrible habit of procrastinating and it appears to be getting worse the older I get. Sometimes I think it's a hormonal imbalance or something (yes believe it or not I've heard that b4) but needless to say I consider that to be bull.

Anyway, I find myself putting off everything, and though my intentions are good I'm tired of being pushed to the limit in everything I do. I am at a point in my life where I feel as though I want to move forward in so many ways, but I realize with this lack luster approach things will never happen.

I guess the good thing is that I realize a dilemma exists and something has to be done about it. Therefore, it's time to get down to business and handle things appropriately. So I promise from this point on I will do everything in my power not to procrastinate......

Or should I just start tomorrow ;0)

Today's Tidbit is:
Don't put off tomorrow what you can do today...i don't know whose quote this is.... but hell it makes since....

Sunday night

OMG! Though I love writing and find it very therapeutic. Its strange to do so in a manner that allows others to peer into your personal thought process. Because this is my first post I will try to stay rather brief. But I warn you...I have a tendency to get off track and ramble occasionally...But always eventually come back ;0) (Ok what was I saying...O Yea)

Anyway, my reason for blogging is one based upon personal and somewhat professional fulfillment. Ever since I can remember I have always wanted to write. Though many of my friends don't know this about me...it is indeed a secret passion.....If I was lonely, sad, happy, resentful, in-love or whatever I always wrote about it. I have actually won several awards as a result of it, and aspire to do so on a national level at some point. As a matter of fact, I have been working on a novel for a number of years now, but I seemed to have encountered "writers block". However, it could be that I have what I consider to be more pressing issues on my mind to deal with at this point. Whatever the reason... I intend to overcome "IT" along with several other road blocks before me at the moment.

I am a spiritual person who relies heavily upon God for guidance. My blog is called "The Waiting Game" because that's what I feel I'm doing at this point in my life. I often feel as if much of my life is in limbo & its like I'm waiting for spectacular things to happen....But in actuality, I now realize that I am responsible for making things happen for myself...Faith without works is dead (James 2:20). But I have also learned that sometimes there is a need to be still and listen because failure to do so can result in disobedience and missed opportunities. So that's what I'm doing...I have vowed to sit still and listen to what "God" wants me to do....

This year has bought about changes in my life that I never knew could happen. I have been a vegetarian now for almost 4 months, I cut my hair off 7 months ago for a more natural approach , and I am slowly but surely ridding my life of things and people that hold no true significance to me. I believe in the power of positive energy and I am striving to make all of my surroundings a product of it.

So in closing if there is nothing else that you know for sure..." Know your Worth and never let anyone Devalue You !!!"
